Bear Hunting

Brown Bear/Black Bear Hunts

We offer one-on-one brown bear hunts in unit 16. There are so many brown bears in unit 16 B that the limit has gone from 1 bear every 4 years to two bears a year to try to get the numbers down.

Starting in the spring of 2014 we were able to harvest brown bears at our black bear bait sites. We have been hunting black bears in the spring over bait for years and have had problems keeping the brown bears off the baits. We are hunting an area that has a large brown bear population and plenty of fish to keep them occupied.

This hunt is out of a remote cabin with propane heat, hot and cold water, and a shower. There is a cook and we have a solar power system for electric. There is a TV with a DVD player for your entertainment after a long night of hunting.

Hunt Info

We access our bait sites with ATVs and track vehicles from the cabin. We also hunt some remote lakes, with bait stations, scattered in a 100 mile line that have incredible hunting. You will be flown into these remote sites with your guide for an all-night hunt. We access these lakes in a brand new Super Cub that was built just to get in and out of small lakes where no one goes. We have trail cameras at all the sites and we wait until we have a brown bear coming in on a regular basis before we hunt the stand. We use ladder stands at our bait stations which makes this a great hunt for bow hunters. Hunts are 9 days (8 days if hunting) from mid-May thru June. This hunt is one of the best deals out there.

On all of these hunts we pick you up in Anchorage and fly you from Willow into camp and return you to Anchorage afterwards. All flying to and from the hunting area is included in the price of the hunt. This price includes all meals, guide fees, and equipment. The only thing not included in the hunt is your airfare to Anchorage, hunting license, personal gear (including weapon and sleeping bag), and gratuities. You will be able to harvest one black bear and one brown bear with no trophy fee.
